The Vietnamese delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung.
During the meeting, diplomats from ASEAN member states and China reviewed the implementation of the DOC and the consultation process for a Code of Conduct for the East Sea (COC).
The two sides shared the view reached at the 9th meeting last July that the consultation process has entered a new stage, and the sides should reach the COC as early as possible to maintain peace and stability in the East Sea.
They agreed to examine several important documents that enable them to speed up the consultation of the COC.
The ASEAN and China also discussed measures to effectively strengthen cooperation at sea.-VNA
