Bac Ninh (VNA) – A 100kg bomb with an intact fuse, believed to be a war remnant, has been discovered in a garden in northern Bac Ninh province, according to the provincial Military Command.
The bomb, identified as an AN-M88 general-purpose bomb, was found on July 8 by a resident while levelling his garden in Mau Son hamlet, Luc Nam commune. The unexploded ordnance was buried about 50cm underground.
Immediately after receiving the report, military engineers were deployed to survey, verify the bomb's origin, and secure the site. Warning signs and barriers were installed, and round-the-clock guards were assigned to ensure safety.
The bomb, still in intact condition with a dangerous fuse, is scheduled to be 🐻transported to National Firing Range Zone 1 on the night of July 10 for controlled detonation./.
