Campaign launched to create 20,000 online jobs for struggling students
The Central Committee of the Vietnam Students Association (VSA) launched a campaign at the website sinhvien.vieclamtuxa.vn on April 28 that will create 20,000 online jobs for Vietnamese students, to support them during the tough time caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hanoi (VNA) -The Central Committee of the Vietnam Students Association (VSA) launched a campaignat the website sinhvien.vieclamtuxa.vn on April 28 that will create 20,000 onlinejobs for Vietnamese students, to support them during the tough time caused by theCOVID-19 pandemic.
Jointly hosted by the VSAand the TopCV employment platform, the campaign aims to connect students with domesticand international recruiters.
Most of the online jobsare in programming, sale, marketing, design, customer service on mobile phones,and data input.
In order to enhance thecapacity of students, the VSA will also provide instructions on how to write a resumetogether with career guidance and expertise testing.
Books on online jobs andoverseas studies will also be given away, equipping students with skills for jobinterviews, applications, and working online.
According to a survey conductedon 131,000 enterprises nationwide by the General Statistics Office, as at mid-Aprilnearly 5 million workers had either lost their jobs, had their employment interrupted,or took leave due to impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some 1.1 million peoplewere unemployed in the first quarter, up 26,000 compared to the fourth quarter of2019. Nearly 493,000 people aged between 15 and 25 lost their jobs, or 44 percentof the total.
Meanwhile, figuresfrom TopCV show that recruitme﷽nt demand among enterprises, which usually surgesafter the lunar new year (Tet holidays), was down 30-35 percent in March due tothe COVID-19 pandemic./.
