Hanoi (VNA) – The Culture & Business Forum(CBF) 2021 took place on December 5 in response to the “Building the Vietnamesebusiness culture” campaign launched in 2016 by then Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc andParty General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s call to accelerate the building of anational culture during the 2021 National Culture Conference last month.
Themed “Acculturation - Foundation for sustainable recoveryand development,” the hybrid event gathered Vietnamese officials from Hanoi,delegates from the Czech Republic, Russia, Japan and France, andbusiness representatives across Vietnam.
In his opening remarks, Minister of Culture, Sports andTourism Nguyen Van Hung said the forum provides a platform for academics andbusiness community to discuss a common approach for acculturation to boosteconomic recovery. Right awareness will lead to good actions, he said.
He highlighted the role of culture in economics and viceversa, quoting then PM Phuc as saying “building businessculture is building competitive edges, trade advantages, and Vietnam’s culturalidentity in the global economic playground” during the launch of the “Buildingthe Vietnamese business culture” in 2016. The PM also said “it is one of theimportant tasks for Vietnam’s government and its business community. It is partof the effort to turn the country into a start-up nation,” Hung added.
The forum’s first session saw academics discussing andtelling stories about acculturation and values guiding economic recovery fromthe corporate culture perspective.
The second session paid attention to “corporate culturevaccine at the time of COVID-19” which highlights the significance of corporateculture in the face of economic fallout from COVID-19.
The event later reviewed the 5-year implementation of the “Building theVietnamese business culture” campaign and honoured enterprises with outstandingbusiness culture./.
