Ninh Binh (VNA) –Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung on July 17 inspected site clearance of CaoBo-Mai Son Expressway – one of the 11 component projects of the North-SouthExpressway project.
He was reported that upto 95 percent of the targeted area has been handed to the investor, while theremaining work is scheduled to be completed this month.
The Cao Bo-Mai Son Expresswayplays an important role in the North-South Expressway as it connects economicand political centres in the Northern Key Economic Zone.
The 15.2km sectionruns through Y Yen district in the northern province of Nam Dinh, and Ninh Binhcity, and Yen Khanh, Hoa Lu and Yen Mo districts of Ninh Binh province, also inthe north.
Its construction is expectedto cost over 1.6 trillion VND (69 million USD) with the funding from Governmentbonds. The component projectis set to be completed this year.
TheNorth-South Expressway covers 2,109km, extending from the northern mountainousprovince of Lang Son to the southernmost province of Ca Mau. Among the 11 sub-projects, three have been set to be fundedby the State budget. Once completed, the North-South Expressway will become a backbone connecting the entire country. The Ministry of Transport will put component projects of the North-South Expressway out to bid, Minister Nguyen Van The told the Vietnam News Agency on April 14.
