Beijing (VNA) – A Vietnamesecitizen in China has infected with the novel coronavirus (nCoV), becoming thefirst Vietnamese national contracted the deadly virus, according to the Embassyof Vietnam in Beijing.
The 30-year-old patient is a woman fromVietnam’s southern province of Dong Nai. She got married in China and is nowresiding in Huichang district, Ganzhou city, Jiangxi province.
She was tested positive for nCoV on January29 and transferred to a local hospital the next day. At present, the patient isin stable health conditions and suffers no fever.
The Vietnamese Embassy has asked theChinese hospital to provide treatment for the patient and continue to keep aclose watch on her conditions.
Meanwhile, three Vietnamese citizensreturning from China's Wuhan city tested positive for nCoV as of January 30afternoon, reported the Ministry of Health.
One of them has been quarantined at centralThanh Hoa province’s hospital, while the other two are undergoing treatment atthe National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi.
All three have reportedly gone to China’sWuhan – the epicentre of the sweeping pneumonia virus outbreak.
Along with a Chinese father and son fromWuhan admitted to Ho Chi Minh City’s Cho Ray Hospital, Vietnam has recordedfive cases of coronavirus infection so far.
The country is quarantining a total of 32suspected infected cases, awaiting final test results, while 65 cases havetheir results returned negative. Forty-three people are being quarantineddespite having normal health as they have had contacts with suspectednCoV-infected patients./.
