Hanoi (VNA) - Deputy Minister of Natural Resourcesand Environment Le Cong Thanh has urged all units involved to take concrete activitiesand collaborate in climate action, aiming for a green, circular economy and asustainable future.
He made the call at a ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) in Hanoi on March 22 in response to the World Water Day (March 22), World MeteorologicalDay (March 23), and Earth Hour (March 23). The hybrid ceremony was connected to the departments of natural resources and environment, meteorological andhydrological stations across regions and provinces.
In his remarks, Thanh highlighted the importance of enhancingthe protection, sustainable exploitation, and utilisation of water resources,promoting green and healthy lifestyles, and raising awareness of responsibleenergy use.
It is necessary to build national resources and environment,while mobilising investment resources and constructing projects and facilitiesrelated to the environment, water resources, meteorology, hydrology, disasterprevention, and climate change adaptation, he said.

Van Ngoc Thinh, CEO of the World Wildlife Fund in Vietnam, pledgedcooperation with and support for the Government and the ministry in addressingthe three greatest global environmental challenges, namely climate change,environmental pollution, and biodiversity loss.
He also vowed to assist the nation in implementing itsinternational commitments to achieve net zero goals at the 26th United NationsClimate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) and the biodiversity promise atCOP15./.
