- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has ordered completion of temporary and dilapidated housing removal for people with meritorious services, war invalids, and relatives of martyrs ahead of July 27.
Chairing the 6th meeting of the Central Steering Committee for Elimination of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses across the nation on July 9 in Hannoi, the PM said the move is part of a practical and meaningful effort to honour the sacrifices and contributions of war heroes and those who rendered meritorious service to the nation. - ASEAN plays a role as a "beacon of peace" and a model regional organisation for dialogue, cooperation, and the peaceful settlement of differences, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son stated at the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat within the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM-58) in Malaysia on July 9.
In his remarks, Son shared views of other countries regarding the recent rapid and volatile developments in the international landscape, highlighting that peace and security are facing serious challenges, continued conflicts and tensions, as well as the increasingly alarming acts of using or threatening to use force, especially those targeting civilian and nuclear infrastructure facilities. - Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung paid courtesy calls to Lao Party General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone in Vientiane on July 9, as part of his ongoing visit to the country.
During the meetings, Dung briefed the Lao leaders on the outcomes of his earlier talks with Deputy Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith, in which both sides reviewed the progress of bilateral cooperation in the first half of 2025. They noted that while key objectives had largely been met, challenges remained. - A delegation of the Vietnam-France Friendship Parliamentarians' Group led by its Chairwoman Nguyen Thuy Anh paid a working visit to France from July 6 to 8, at the invitation of Chairwoman of the France – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group (FVFG) in the French National Assembly (NA) Anne Le Hénanff.
During the visit, the delegation carried out numerous important activities, including official meetings with representatives of the FVFG in the French NA, the FVFG at the French Senate. - Vietnam’s industrial production in the second quarter of 2025 continued to grow, with the Industrial Index of Production (IIP) estimated to rise by 10.3% year-on-year, including a 12.3% increase in the processing and manufacturing sector, according to the latest report from the National Statistics Office (NSO) under the Ministry of Finance.
For the first half of 2025, the IIP rose by 9.2% compared to the same period last year, marking the highest growth rate since 2020, the office reported. Read full story./.
