Mu Cang Chai terraced rice fields in the water-pouring season
From mid-May to June, when summer rains begin to fall, the terraced rice fields in Mu Cang Chai district - formerly part of the northern province of Yen Bai, now under Lao Cai province after administrative merger - enter the water-pouring season. Water floods the ploughed terraces, reflecting sunlight and blending with the natural hues of soil, water, plants, and the sky, forming a living mural amid majestic mountains. Photo: Khanh Hoa – VNA
