NA Chairman calls for further innovation in law-making mindset, practice
National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man, who is also a Politburo member and Secretary of the NA Party Committee, attended the 1st Congress of the Party Organisation of the NA Committee for Legal and Judicial Affairs for the 2025–2030 tenure in Hanoi on June 28.

Hanoi (VNA) - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man called for further innovation in legislative mindset and practice to meet the demands of national development in the new era while addressing the 1st Congress of the Party Organisation of the NA Committee for Legal and Judicial Affairs for the 2025–2030 tenure in Hanoi on June 28.
NA Chairman Man, who is also a Politburo member and Secretary of the NA Party Committee, praised the Party Committee of the NA Committee for Legal and Judicial Affairs for its contributions and effectiveness over the past term.
He commended its core role in improving legislative quality, contributing to key Party documents, and advancing reform in NA operations. Notably, the committee helped shape the legislative programme for the 15th tenure and ensured the quality control of bills submitted by other NA bodies as well as ministries and sectors.
The NA Chairman highlighted the NA’s legislative achievements, with 67 laws passed in recent sessions, accounting for nearly one-third of all active legislation.
He welcomed the committee’s candid self-assessment and urged further efforts to address limitations for higher efficiency.
The top legislator asked the Party Organisation of the committee to focus on strengthening Party building, enhancing professionalism and solidarity, promoting democratic dialogue, and aligning legal reform with the broader pace of national modernisation.
At the same time, the committee's Party Organisation must ensure the excellent implementation of its political tasks and improve its professional capacity of the committee and each of its member, while proactively preparing law-making programmes for the NA's next tenure, and making greater application of science, technology, and AI in law-making, he asked.

NA Chairman Man also requested the committee's Party Organisation to ensure the close coordination within the committee and with other NA bodies and relevant agencies.
At the congress, Chairman of the NA Committee for Legal and Judicial Affairs Hoang Thanh Tung, who is a member of the Parry Central Committee and a member of the NA Party Committee's Standing Board, was appointed Secretary of the committee’s Party Committee for the new term.
Delegates also determined orientations and tasks for the🎃 2025-2030 tenure, including com♕pleting political missions, streamlining the organisational structure, advancing digital transformation, and pursuing strategic legal reform aligned with the country’s modernisation drive./.
The decision to form the NEC was made under Resolution 211/2025/QH15, while the appointment of Politburo member and NA Chairman Man as the NEC Chairperson was made under Resolution 212/2025/QH15.
During this session, the legislative body considered, discussed, and made decisions on a large volume of work with historic significance, covering many important issues closely linked to the demands for reform, institutional improvement, and streamlining of the organisational apparatus, said National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
The 15th National Assembly is set to adopt seven laws and seven resolutions through voting during the final working day of its 9th session on June 27. NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man is scheduled to deliver a closing speech after the legislature completed the agenda of its 9th session.
Considering the dialogue an opportunity to introduce Vietnam’s efforts and achieved results, the Vietnamese delegation will participate in the session with an open, sincere, cooperative, and constructive spirit.
PM Chinh affirmed that the two countries have great potential to develop agricultural cooperation on the basis of having a large market, complementary strengths and the prospect of being soon connected by free trade agreements.
PM Chinh asserted Vietnam's strong commitment and active contributions to the common efforts to promote peace, cooperation and development, promoting the role of Southern countries in global governance institutions, at the same time, demonstrating Vietnam's support and contributions to the success of BRICS during Brazil's presidency.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed deep appreciation for the affection the Brazilian people and nation have extended to President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam. The leader noted his belief that, building on the strong ties between Vietnam and Brazil, the present and future generations of both countries will continue to carry forward the values and legacy left by President Ho Chi Minh and previous generations.
The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence supports deeper cooperation between the two militaries, Minister Gen. Phan Van Giang affirmed, expressing his hope that they will further strengthen effective collaboration, thus contributing to each country's national defence and the Vietnam – Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the time ahead.
PM Pham Minh Chinh will have bilateral meetings with leaders of the participating countries and organisations, thereby affirming Vietnam's role, wish, and responsible contributions to this multilateral mechanism while further deepening Vietnam’s cooperation with BRICS members and international organisations.
The Vietnamese Party and State leaders reaffirmed that Vietnam consistently regards the US as one of its strategically important partners, and welcomed the US support for a “strong, independent, self-reliant, and prosperous Vietnam.”
