Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly deputies will wrap up their5th session of the 14th tenure on June 15.
The closing session will be broadcast live by VietnamTelevision, Radio the Voice of Vietnam and the Vietnam National Assemblychannel.
On the day, the deputies are scheduled to vote the Law on amendments and supplementsto some articles of the laws pertaining to the Law on Planning; a resolution onthe outcomes of supervision over the implementation of laws and policies on themanagement and use of State capital and assets at enterprises and theequitization of State-owned enterprises in 2011-2016; and a resolution on theestablishment of a thematic supervision group of the NA in 2019.
On June 14, the deputies passed the draft revised Law on Physical Training andSport and the law on Measurement and Map.
They deliberated the draft Law on People’s Police(Revised) and listened to Minister of Public Security To Lam explained someissues questioned by the deputies.
They also discussed the draft Law on Animal Husbandryand heard further explanations from Minister of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment Nguyen Xuan Cuong.-VNA
The National Assembly is expected to adopt the draft law on amendments and supplements to several articles of the Law on Sports and Physical Training and the bill on Measurement and Map on June 14.
Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Bui Thi Thanh has said people can voice their opinions via VFF chapters, member units and mainstream media, which will be forwarded to the Party, State, National Assembly Standing Committee, Government and policy compiling agencies to protect their interests.
The 14th legislature passed the draft revised Law on Physical Training and Sport and the law on Measurement and Map on June 14, within the framework of the on-going 5th session.
The Law on Cyber Security is in conformity with the Constitution and does not hamper the implementation of the international treaties to which Vietnam is a party, said Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang.
The draft law on special administrative-economic units was built with the aim of creating breakthroughs and new development momentum for the economy and capitalizing on advantages of localities, said Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang.

At the working session, General Secretary Lam presented the Party Committee of the VFF and central mass organisations with the Politburo’s Decision No. 304-QD/TW, which outlines the new structure, functions and tasks of the VFF Central Committee, marking a significant step in improving its organisational effectiveness.
Describing the exhibition as a large-scaled, content-rich, and unprecedented event with high requirements and limited preparation time, PM Pham Minh Chinh urged all ministries, sectors, and localities to participate with the highest sense of responsibility, ensuring the exhibition is inclusive, objective, truthful, feasible, and impactful.
Vietnam’s attendance reaffirms its consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation and diversification, and comprehensive, intensive, extensive and effective international integration.
Cheng stressed that this is third time PM Chinh has attended the meeting and he is among the few senior government officials participating in this year's event, which is considered as a rare and commendable gesture.
The fact that the Vietnamese PM has been invited to attend and speak at this important event for three consecutive years reflects the WEF as well as the international business community's recognition and high regard for Vietnam's position, role, and contributions to global and regional economic growth.
This new era marks a crucial phase in which the country must strive with determination to fulfil its strategic objectives, achieving breakthrough development at new levels of sophistication, quality, and global standing, laying the foundation for further growth. Era after era forms a continuous history of development, ascending steadily from one level to the next.
The resolution on such mechanisms aims to serve as a legal basis for opportunely dealing with difficulties and hindrances caused by legal regulations in important, priority, and urgent areas that require immediate settlement so as to unlock resources, facilitate economic development, and turn legislation into a competitive edge.
PM Pham Minh Chinh instructed chairpersons of the People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to strictly follow the Ministry of Finance's guidelines on handling public finances and budgets, with a focus on preventing wastefulness, misconduct, or corruption.
Knapper reaffirmed the US's commitment to supporting a strong, independent, prosperous and resilient Vietnam, while respecting each other’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, independence and political systems.
Vietnam is deeply concerned about the escalating and complex conflict in the Middle East, which poses a serious threat to the lives and safety of civilians, as well as to regional and global peace and stability.
