National art photo exhibition launched, focusing on Quang Ninh
Vietnamese amateur and professional photographers are being invited to take part in a biennial national art photo exhibition which was launched in Hanoi on May 2.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese amateur and professional photographers arebeing invited to take part in a biennial national art photo exhibition which waslaunched in Hanoi on May 2.
Entries can be single photos or a group of photos, focusingon the two topics: Ha Long –Quang Ninh - from a new angle or a free topic onVietnam. The photos should have been taken in the last two years.
Each photographer can send up to eight works for the twotopics, maximum three of which are groups of photos, to the websiteanhnghethuatvietnam2018.com by July 31.
The entries should not have been submitted to any previousnational and international contests hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports andTourism and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Minister ofCulture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien said he hopes the organising boardwill receive many high quality works reflecting vividly the Vietnamese society,its achievements in the process of renewal and integration in the fields ofeconomy, politics, culture, society, security and defence, as well as thebeauties of nature and people throughout the country in general and Quang Ninhin particular.
The organisers will give two gold medals, along with 30million VND (1,318 USD) in cash, four silver, six bronze and 10 consolationprizes.
The gold prize winners at this contest will be eligible toapply for the State Prize and Ho Chi Minh Prize in Literature and Arts, thehighest honours in Vietnam.
The organisers plan to show 200 to 250 works at anexhibition held in October in the northern province of Qung Ninh, as a culturalactivity in the framework of the National Tourism Year 2018 - Ha Long – QuangNinh.

As many as 85 photos reflecting the vitality of the multi-thousand-year-old capital are on display at the “Hanoi trai tim hong” (Hanoi-pink heart) exhibition which opened at the Hanoi Museum.
The northern coastal city of Ha Long launched a press contest on local tourism as part of activities to promote National Tourism Year – Ha Long – Quang Ninh 2018.
Outstanding entries selected from the 9th Vietnam International Artistic Photo Competition last year is on display at the Da Nang Museum in the central city of Da Nang.
A grand ceremony heralded the National Tourism Year 2018 and the Carnaval Ha Long programme in the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh on April 28.
The event, organised by the VNUFA, featured nearly 40 presentations from Vietnamese and foreign participants, including those from Russia, France, and Japan.
The reimagined gallery not only presents artefacts in a more structured and thematic layout, but also incorporates 3D visual storytelling to enhance audience engagement. The addition of film installations offers visitors a more vivid and immersive understanding of the objects on display.
With the unique concept of travelling the country through traditional music, the album takes listeners on a journey across Vietnam’s beautiful landscapes, immersing them in vibrant traditional festivals, retelling heroic tales of the nation’s history, showcasing local specialties, and reflecting the spirit and love of the modern Vietnamese people.
Participants discussed internal developments within the Nguyen Dynasty during the Franco-Spanish coalition’s campaigns, particularly the tension between pro-war and pro-peace factions, and their impact on the political and military situation at that time.
Vietnam is rewriting the playbook on cultural diplomacy, shifting from traditional government-led initiatives to embracing grassroots participation from citizens, businesses, and social media influencers. The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
