Hanoi (VNA) – Thefinal meeting of the 14th National Assembly (NA)’s sixth sessiontook place in Hanoi on November 20 under the chair of NA Chairwoman Nguyen ThiKim Ngan, which was live broadcast nationwide.
Presided over by NA Vice ChairmanUong Chu Luu in the morning, the legislature adopted the revised Law onCorruption Prevention and Control with 452 approval votes, accounting for 93.2percent of the total.
The meeting also passed the Lawon amendments and supplements to several articles of 37 laws regarding planningwith 418 approval votes, making up 86.19 percent of the total.
The amended Law on People’s PublicSecurity was also ratified with 85.77 percent of approval.
On the occasion, Indian PresidentRam Nath Kovind also addressed the meeting.
In his speech, the IndianPresident said the two countries have worked closely together in politics, economy and people-to-peopleexchange and facilitated regular visits by legislators over the past years.
President Kovind and NAChairwoman Ngan expressed their wishes to continue strengthening bilateral friendshipfor the common interest of the Indian and Vietnamese people, and for peace,prosperity, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Later, member of the NA StandingCommittee, NA Secretary General and Chairman of the NA Office Nguyen Hanh Phucdelivered a report on acquiring feedback on the Resolution of the sixthsession.
NA Vice Secretary General HoangThanh Tung presented a draft Resolution of the sixth session. The NA thenadopted the Resolution with 95.26 percent of votes.
