Hanoi (VNA) – Delegates attending the ninthNational Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) on September 20discussed and adopted the charter of the organisation, while appointing membersof the VFF Central Committee.
The charter comprises eight chapters and 37 articles, onearticle more than that of the previous tenure. It contains a new article on therelations between the VFF and member organisations.
Accordingly, the VFF Central Committee and its member organisationswill have coordinative relations, with the VFF committee playing the key role,cooperating with member organisations through democratic discussions toimplement tasks and action programmes designed by the VFF.
Regarding the number of the members of the VFF CentralCommittee for the 2019-2024 tenure, delegates agreed to maintain it at 385. Atthe session, 374 members of the committee were appointed, while the rest willbe added later.
The members include representatives from member organisationsand different groups and classes from all walks of life.
As many as 187 of the members are not Party members, 80female, 98 from ethnic minority groups, and 84 followers of differentreligions. Meanwhile, 301 members of the committee, or 80.1 percent, areuniversitygraduates.
In terms of age, 44 members of VFF Central Committee areunder 40, 182 from 44-60, and 148 over 60.
