Party official reaffirms strong ties with Dominican Republic's ruling Party
The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) always values the friendly relations and cooperation with the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) and political parties of the Dominican Republic, said Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of its Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Communist Party of Vietnam (C🎐PV) always values the friendly relations and cooperation with the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) and political parties of the Dominican Republic, said Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of its Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung.
During a reception in Hanoi on June 27 for Politburo member of the PRM and Minister of Agriculture of the Dominican Republic Limber Lucas Cruz López, Trung thanked the PRM, President Luis Abinader and the minister for their support to bilateral ties.
He agreed to strengthen relations through party channels to reinforce political foundations and orientations to bilateral cooperation.
Expressing his satisfaction with advancements in relations between the two parties and countries over the past years, he proposed that both sides continue fostering substantial cooperation in areas of mutual strength and need, including agriculture while supporting each other at international forums for the benefit of their people and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
Minister Limber Lucas Cruz López expressed his joy to visit Vietnam for the first time, admiring the achievements Vietnam has made in its past struggle for national liberation and reunification and the ongoing renewal.
Expressing his desire to further tighten friendship and cooperation between the PRM and CPV and between the two countries, he informed the host about the outcomes of his trip, and hoped for stronger cooperation in various fields, particularly in trade, agriculture, tourism, and continued support for each other at global and regional forums./.
Vietnam always attaches importance to and looks to strengthen the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with the Dominican Republic, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son told a Dominican guest.
The Dominican Republic (DR) and Vietnam have great potential to continue developing their relations to a higher level, in the fields of diplomacy, trade, science, agriculture, education, telecommunications, tourism, sports and culture, said DR Ambassador to Vietnam Jaime Francisco Rodríguez on November 1.
The Vietnamese Party and State always value traditional friendship and all-around cooperation with countries and political parties, including the Dominican Republic and its United Left Movement (MIU), said General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong.
In 2019, the Vietnamese association in PEI was established as a non-governmental organisation to support integration and development within the community. It has since organised a range of activities to maintain cultural identity, foster community cohesion, and strengthen ties with the homeland, while also contributing to the development of the host society.
Vietnam’s participation at the meeting underscores the country’s consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation and diversification, and proactive international integration in a broad, deep, and effective manner. It also conveys Vietnam’s ambition and determination to enter a new era - the era of the nation’s rise.
The amended law will take effect on July 1, 2025, except for provisions on civil servant evaluation in Section 3, Chapter IV, which will be implemented from January 1, 2026.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s participation at the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Tianjin, China, reflects the Vietnamese Party and Government’s strong commitment to the Vietnam–China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, while injecting fresh momentum into bilateral economic and trade cooperation amid a volatile global economic landscape.
A key amendment was made to Clause 2, Article 16, which now stipulates that a child born to one parent who is a Vietnamese citizen and the other a foreign national shall be granted Vietnamese nationality, if both parents agree to choose Vietnamese nationality for the child during birth registration with competent Vietnamese authorities

At the working session, General Secretary Lam presented the Party Committee of the VFF and central mass organisations with the Politburo’s Decision No. 304-QD/TW, which outlines the new structure, functions and tasks of the VFF Central Committee, marking a significant step in improving its organisational effectiveness.
Describing the exhibition as a large-scaled, content-rich, and unprecedented event with high requirements and limited preparation time, PM Pham Minh Chinh urged all ministries, sectors, and localities to participate with the highest sense of responsibility, ensuring the exhibition is inclusive, objective, truthful, feasible, and impactful.
Vietnam’s attendance reaffirms its consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation and diversification, and comprehensive, intensive, extensive and effective international integration.
Cheng stressed that this is third time PM Chinh has attended the meeting and he is among the few senior government officials participating in this year's event, which is considered as a rare and commendable gesture.
