At the meeting, the 24th of its kind, leaders of ASEAN and its partners agreed to give priority for their cooperation in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and stimulating post-pandemic recovery towards sustainable development.

The leaders also held that regional countries should consider the removal of travel restrictions, and soon ratify and implement the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.

China, Japan and the Republic of Korea reaffirmed their support for ASEAN’s initiatives on Covid-19 prevention and vowed to continue assisting ASEAN countries in fighting the pandemic.

Addre๊ssing the event, PM Chinh stressed that in order to gain sustainable socio-economic recovery, ASEAN plus three countries should cooperate wit💙h each other to stabilize macro economics and finance, and support people and business community, among others.
