Prime Minister checks preparations for 31st SEA Games
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected preparations for the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in Hanoi on April 18, stressing that hosting this event is an honour, responsibility, and also a chance to popularise the image of Vietnam.

Hanoi (VNA) – PrimeMinister Pham Minh Chinh inspected preparations for the 31st SoutheastAsian Games (SEA Games) in Hanoi on April 18, stressing that hosting this eventis an honour, responsibility, and also a chance to popularise the image of Vietnam.
Visiting athletes and coachesat the national sports training centre, he praised their seriousness in training,efforts to weather difficulties, and strong determination to obtain the bestresults at the coming regional sports event, slated for May 12 - 23.
He noted that as Vietnam isthe host of the 31st SEA Games, aside from training and competing inthe noble spirit of sport, athletes and coaches will also act as ambassadors ofpeace and friendship. As such, they need to demonstrate the traditionalsolidarity, friendship, and love for peace of Vietnam, and adhere to the national foreign policy.

The Government leader wished themhealth, confidence, and the best performance at the coming Games.
Talking to the artists whoare practising for the Games opening ceremony at the My Dinh indoor athletics gymnasium,PM Chinh expressed his hope that the artists and others serving the Games will do their best for an impressive opening ceremony that demonstratethe will, wisdom, and skillfulness of Vietnamese people, as well as the country’scultural identity.
Coming to My Dinh NationalStadium, the PM noted as the stadium is a venue of numerous activities duringthe Games, including the opening and closing ceremonies and many sports, relevantparties need to ensure appropriate arrangement so that those activities willnot affect one another.

The leader also asked for dueattention to be paid to pandemic prevention and control to protect the healthof athletes and coaches of not only Vietnam but also other participatingcountries.
The 31st SEA Games,themed “For a Stronger Southeast Asia”, will take place in Hanoi and 11 nearbylocalities, featuring 40 sports and 526 setsof medals. It is expected to welcome 10,000 participants from 11Southeast Asian countries.
The biennialevent was initially slated for late 2021 but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This isthe second time Vietnam has hosted the Games, following the 22nd onein 2003./.
A Delegation Registration Meeting (DRM) will take place in Hanoi next month for Vietnam, as the host, to confirm the registration of all athletes to participate in the upcoming SEA Games.
A ceremony will be held on April 28 in Hanoi to see off the sports delegation of Vietnam to the upcoming 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) slated for May 12 – 23 in Hanoi.
The music video of the official song for the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31), “Let’s Shine”, will officially make debut at 8pm on April 18, according to the regional sports event’s organising committee.
The northern province of Bac Ninh, which will host competitions of four sports in the upcoming 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31), has been finalising preparations for the regional sport event.
The event, organised by the VNUFA, featured nearly 40 presentations from Vietnamese and foreign participants, including those from Russia, France, and Japan.

With the unique concept of travelling the country through traditional music, the album takes listeners on a journey across Vietnam’s beautiful landscapes, immersing them in vibrant traditional festivals, retelling heroic tales of the nation’s history, showcasing local specialties, and reflecting the spirit and love of the modern Vietnamese people.
