Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam left Washington DC on late May 31 (local time), wrapping up an official visit to the US at the invitation of President Donald Trump.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phucand a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam left Washington DC on late May 31(local time), wrapping up an official visit to the US at the invitation ofPresident Donald Trump.
Earlier, he visited the Vietnamese Embassy andagencies of Vietnam in the US on May 31 afternoon (local time).
Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh saidchanges are taking place in Vietnam-US relations under the Trumpadministration, creating momentum for stronger development.
The Embassy and other agencies of Vietnam in theUS grasp the Party’s and State’s foreign policy and have exerted efforts tofulfill all assigned tasks, he noted.
He promised the embassy’s staff will work harderto contribute to Vietnam-US cooperation.
Commending the embassy and other agencies forcontributing to his visit’s success, PM Phuc recognised the embassy’sperformance, which has helped tighten the two countries’ ties.
As the US is home to the biggest number ofVietnamese expatriates, he asked the embassy to listen to them in order tosuggest policies to the Government.
He also applauded the activities of otheragencies in the US such as those of Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television,and the representative office of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Heasked them to further reform their activities to help solidify the countries’friendship.-VNA
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and US President Donald Trump discussed measures to develop the two countries’ relations in a more substantive manner during their talks at the White House, Washington DC, on May 31 (local time).
Vietnam plans to develop a comprehensive, long-term and win-win relationship with the US, actively contributing to peace, prosperity and development in the region and the world.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc voiced his delight at the development of relations between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the US Congress while holding phone talks with some key parliamentarians in Washington D.C on May 31 (local time).
The US administration attaches importance to and wishes for the stronger development in the relations with Vietnam in various fields in the time ahead, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said.
The Party and State of Vietnam always attach great importance to and give top priority to the development of Vietnam–China relations. Vietnam is ready to work with the Chinese Party and State to further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and promote the building of the Vietnam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
