Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Public Security on March 5 grantedcertificates of merit to 33 collectives and 55 individuals for outstandingperformances in ensuring security for the second DPRK-USA summit, which washeld in Hanoi on February 27-28.
Minister of PublicSecurity Gen. To Lam lauded the efforts of units from the central to locallevels in strictly following the Party and Government’s directions, as well as ordersfrom the ministry’s leaders.
With just a short periodto make preparations, the units fulfilled all tasks assigned by the Party and State,he affirmed.
To that end, theministry received close coordination from other ministries, sectors, andlocalities, especially the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of ForeignAffairs, as well as support from the public, he added.
The two-day summitdrew special attention from domestic and foreign media, with the participationof 2,600 foreign reporters from 281 news agencies, together with hundreds ofdomestic reporters. –VNA
