Son La's five disadvataged hamlets connected to national grid
Five disadvantaged hamlets in Chieng Kheo commune in the northern mountainous province of Son La’s Mai Son district were connected to the national grid on December 30.

Son La (VNA) – Five disadvantaged hamlets inChieng Kheo commune in the northern mountainous province of Son La’s Mai Sondistrict were connected to the national grid on December 30.
The move benefited 256 local households, pushing the rateof families in Chieng Kheo having electricity access to 100 percent.
Mua A Dinh, head of Pang Sang B hamlet – one of the fivelocalities, said villagers are happy and thankful that the Party, State, andprovincial authorities have paid attention and invested in developing the powersystem.
In August, 100 households of the Mong ethnic minority groupin two other hamlets in Chieng Sung commune of Mai Son district were also provided with electricity. An additional 904 ethnichouseholds in the district are expected to get access to the national grid in the near future./.
A total of 106 wind power plants nationwide with a combined capacity of more than 5,655 MW have registered to conduct commercial operations and join the national grid, according to Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
The southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau has urged the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam Electricity (EVN) to promptly allocate funding to a project to connect Con Dao island of the province with the national grid, with nearly 2.53 trillion VND (110.88 million USD) to be channeled from the State budget in the 2021-25 period.
The Thai Binh 2 thermal power plant in the northern province of Thai Binh must be connected to the national electricity grid on April 30, 2022 instead of early June 2022 as initially scheduled by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), said Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh.
Two wind power projects in Dak Song district in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong, which are worth more than 2.6 trillion VND (113.52 million USD) in total, had been completed as of October 31.
