Hanoi (VNA) - The Steering Committee for making the project on continuing to promote Party building and rectification, prevent and repel the deterioration in political ideology, morality, lifestyle and internal "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" manifestations convened the first session in Hanoi on August 13.
At the event, Hoang Dang Quang, member of the Party Central Committee and deputy head of the Committee’s Organisation Commission, announced the decision to establish a 17-strong Steering Committee for the development of the project.
Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of its Organisation Commission, is head of the steering committee, while Quang is its deputy head.
The session approved a work plan of the steering committee, and assigned tasks to its members.
Speaking at the event, Mai appreciated the sense of responsibility of the steering committee members.
She revealed that at the fourth Plenum of the Party Central Committee, she will submit for approval a report on the five-year implementation of Resolution No. 04-NQ/TW dated October 30, 2016 of the 12th Party Central Committee on promoting Party building and rectification, preventing and repelling the deterioration in political ideology, morality, lifestyle and internal "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" manifestations./.

Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle has become a crucial, regular task of each Party committee and organisation, as well as each official and Party member, significantly contributing to Party building and rectification, according to a conclusion of the Politburo.
Professor, Dr Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, has written an article titled “Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path towards socialism in Vietnam.”
The Party Central Committee’s Theoretical Council held a seminar on June 23 to look into some theoretical and practical issues related to the continued enhancement of Party building and rectification work.
Vietnam’s participation at the meeting underscores the country’s consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation and diversification, and proactive international integration in a broad, deep, and effective manner. It also conveys Vietnam’s ambition and determination to enter a new era - the era of the nation’s rise.
The amended law will take effect on July 1, 2025, except for provisions on civil servant evaluation in Section 3, Chapter IV, which will be implemented from January 1, 2026.

At the working session, General Secretary Lam presented the Party Committee of the VFF and central mass organisations with the Politburo’s Decision No. 304-QD/TW, which outlines the new structure, functions and tasks of the VFF Central Committee, marking a significant step in improving its organisational effectiveness.
Describing the exhibition as a large-scaled, content-rich, and unprecedented event with high requirements and limited preparation time, PM Pham Minh Chinh urged all ministries, sectors, and localities to participate with the highest sense of responsibility, ensuring the exhibition is inclusive, objective, truthful, feasible, and impactful.
Vietnam’s attendance reaffirms its consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation and diversification, and comprehensive, intensive, extensive and effective international integration.
Cheng stressed that this is third time PM Chinh has attended the meeting and he is among the few senior government officials participating in this year's event, which is considered as a rare and commendable gesture.
The fact that the Vietnamese PM has been invited to attend and speak at this important event for three consecutive years reflects the WEF as well as the international business community's recognition and high regard for Vietnam's position, role, and contributions to global and regional economic growth.
