Tetra Pak inaugurates expanded aseptic packaging plant in HCM City

HCM City (VNA) – Swedish food processing and packaging giant Tetra Pak has inaugurated the second phase worth 97 million EUR of its aseptic packaging plant located in the VSIP II-A Industrial Park in Vinh Tan ward, Ho Chi Minh City, bringing the total investment to 217 million EUR.
The expansion equips the factory with cutting-edge technology and significantly boosts its competitiveness. With this development, the plant’s annual production capacity now exceeds 30 billion cartons, spanning 15 new packaging formats.
It is set to serve key regional markets including Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand. Notably, over 55% of its output will be supplied to the domestic market, enhancing Vietnam’s self-sufficiency in packaging and the F&B (food and beverage) industry.
Adolfo Orive, President and CEO of Tetra Pak Global, highlighted that the expansion underlines the company’s long-term commitment to Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific. With focus on innovation, modern production, and sustainable practices, Tetra Pak is expected to continue to support the growth of both the country and the wider region, he said.
Speaking at the ceremony, Bui Minh Thanh, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, praised the investment, saying Tetra Pak’s continued expansion in Vietnam is a strong testament to the close connection between foreign-invested enterprises and national development, particularly in the areas of food technology and innovation. It is also a positive signal amid the deepening strategic partnership between Vietnam and Sweden in science, technology, and innovation.

Tetra Pak, the world's leading food processing and packaging solutions company, has announced that it has expanded the collection of used beverage cartons via the VECA app to 18 districts in Ho Chi Minh City, four more compared to the first phase of the project.
With a capacity of 6,000 cartons per hour, the new line offers cost-effective production, reduces waste, and meets growing demand for safe, convenient, and environmentally friendly food products.
The three-day event showcases cutting-edge technology and equipment in the paper and packaging sector, while serving as a key platform for international trade connections.
