Manila (VNA) – Chairman of the National AssemblyVuong Dinh Hue had talks with Speaker of the Philippine House ofRepresentatives Martin Romualdez in Manila on November 23, immediately after a welcoming ceremony for him at the House's headquarters.
The host leader expressed his belief that the trip willcreate a new impulse for the two countries’ strategic partnership to developeffectively and substantively in all aspects.
Chairman Hue congratulatedthe Philippines on the successful organisation of the general elections lastMay and Romualdez on his election to the House leadership.
He also described the Philippine House of Representatives’resolution on enhancing bilateral cooperation through the Philippine-Vietnam Parliamentarians’ Friendship Society as an important milestone in further intensifyingrelations between the two legislative bodies as well as the strategicpartnership between the two countries in general.
Both host and guest held that high-level visits andmeetings, most recently the bilateral meetings of Vietnamese President NguyenXuan Phuc and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh with Philippine President FerdinandRomualdez Marcos on the sidelines of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week and theASEAN Summits reflect the close ties and political trust between leadersand peoples of the two countries.
They agreed to further strengthen bilateral ties in suchareas as politics - diplomacy and trade - investment.
Romualdez thanked Vietnam for donating medical supplies tohis country during the pandemic and consistently being a trustworthyand stable rice provider amid the global food crisis.
He also noted his hope that the Philippines can export moregoods to Vietnam.
On this occasion, Chairman Hue invited the Philippine Speakerto visit Vietnam. Romualdez thanked and accepted the invitation with pleasure.
At the talks, in the presence of the countries’parliamentarians, a representative of the Philippine House of Representativesread the entire Resolution 571 on enhancing bilateral cooperation through thePhilippine-Vietnam Parliamentarians’ Friendship Society. The House of Representatives of the Philippines on November 21 adopted a resolution that would effectively boost bilateral ties with Vietnam through the establishment of the Philippine-Vietnam Parliamentarians’ Friendship Society.
Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines Hoang Huy Chung has described National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue’s official visit to the archipelago nation from November 23 to 25 as a significant milestone in bilateral ties.
Politburo member and National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue arrived in Villamor airbase, Manila at 10am on November 23 (local time), beginning his three-day official visit to the Philippines at an invitation of Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
