Responding to reporters’ query regarding a cease-fireagreement reached by Israel and Hamas, Hang said Vietnam welcomes and appealsto relevant sides to respect and seriously observe the agreement, and not to takeactions that would complicate the situation.
“We highly evaluate reconciliation efforts of the international community, especially the United Nations and several related countries. We call on the international community to increase humanitarian aid, including support for activities of the United Nations Relief and WorksAgency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), in order to helpPalestinians soon overcome difficulties and stabilise their lives,” she said./.
Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN), has affirmed Vietnam’s strong support for all efforts and initiatives that can help promote the Middle East peace process.
Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy expressed Vietnam’s serious concern over recent tension in East Jerusalem and called on sides involved to restrain themselves at an UN Security Council emergency meeting held in New York on May 10.
The UN Security Council (UNSC) held the second emergency meeting this week on May 12 to discuss escalating tension between Israel and Palestine in recent days, during which Vietnam expressed serious concern over and oppose related violent acts.
Vietnam welcomes Israel – Hamas ceasefire and wishes that it would be carried out and prolong in reality, said head of the Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
The ministry has instructed Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel, Iran, as well as those in neighbouring countries, to closely monitor the situation and request local authorities to ensure absolute safety for Vietnamese citizens living, studying, and working in high-risk areas.
