Sydney (VNA) – A delegation from the Lao Embassy in Australia visited the Vietnamese Embassy on September 4 to extend their congratulations on the 79th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2024).
At the event, Lao Ambassador Sinchai Manivanh congratulated Vietnam on its significant achievements over the past 79 years, and stressed the importance of the two nations’ great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation. Laos’ peace, stability, and prosperity are partly attributed to the collaboration with and support from Vietnam, he affirmed.
With global challenges affecting the socio-economic conditions and the life of their people, Vietnam and Laos are determined to assist each other, reflecting their deep fraternal bond and tradition of mutual assistance, he said.
In response, Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Hung Tam expressed his delight at the rapid development of the nations’ cooperative relations in all fields. Vietnam will continue to support Laos in its role as the chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this year, he stated.
The diplomat said he wishes the two embassies will strengthen their coordination and mutual support, contributing꧂ to deepening the sound relations between the🦹 two ministries of foreign affairs and promoting effective cooperation between each country and Australia, as well as within regional and multilateral frameworks./.
National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai held talks with his Lao counterpart Sommad Pholsena in the central city of Da Nang on September 4, vowing to advance economic cooperation between their nations.
Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and Deputy Minister of National Defence, met with his Lao counterpart Sen. Lt. Gen.
