Vietnam ranks among top 10 at 2025 Int'l Physics Olympiad

Hanoi (VNA) – All the fi﷽ve members of Vietnam’s national team earned medals at the 2025 International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), comprising one gold and four silver medals, placing the country among the top 10 performers, the Ministry of Education and Training announced on Julꦯy 24.

Nguyen The Quan, a 12th grader from the Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted in Nghe An province, won the gold medal. The four silver medalists are 12th-grade students, including two from the High School for the Gifted under the University of Science of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, one from the Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted in Bac Ninh province, and another from the Quoc Hoc-Hue High School for the Gifted in Hue city.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
