A new agreement to intensify cooperation in auditing between Vietnamand Russia was signed at a meeting between the two countries’ auditchiefs in Moscow on November 18.
During the meeting, AuditorGeneral of the State Audit Office of Vietnam Nguyen Huu Van andChairwoman of the Accounts Chamber and head of the Supreme AuditInstitution of Russia Tatyana Golikova expressed their delight at theclose coordination of the two state audit agencies, which, they said,has contributed remarkably to consolidating and developing the twocountries’ relations.
They discussed priority fields for cooperation in the time ahead, agreeing to focus on the nuclear energy sector.
They decided to conduct joint auditing over the implementation of aninter-governmental agreement on building the Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear powerplant in Vietnam and the operations of joint ventures Vietsovpetro andRusvietpetro in 2016.
The two sides also affirmed their willingness to expand cooperation in training and retraining auditors.
The Russian audit chief proposed training Vietnamese students infinance and state auditing majors at Russia’s universities.
Both also agreed to completely support each other at the InternationalOrganisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and the AsianOrganisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI).-VNA
