Hanoi (VNA) - As of March 16, the military-run telecom group Viettel had setup nearly 18,000 4G base transceiver stations (BTSs), bringing the technologyto 704 districts in 63 provinces and cities.
This means theyhave covered 99 percent of the total localities in Vietnam after only fourmonths of its launch.
Viettel said ithas also provided 4G network to around 6,300 communes nationwide includingremote, mountainous and border gate areas. Specifically, more than 100districts in the border areas in 25 provinces including Loc Binh, Muong Nhe,Sin Ho, Meo Vac and Quan Ba had access to the 4G network.
It is expectedthat by the end of this month, the telecom provider would have more than 7,300 4GBTS to bring the total to 28,000 BTS nationwide. This could help ensure thebest quality 4G.
