Vinh Phuc (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen XuanPhuc attended a ceremony in the northern province of Vinh Phuc on February 1marking the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam(February 3) and the 70th founding anniversary of the locality(February 12).

At the event, PM Phuc presented the first-class Labour Orderto the provincial Party Committee, authorities and people.

Speaking at the ceremony, the PM hailed the achievementsmade by Vinh Phuc, saying that they are vivid manifestations of the sound DoiMoi (renewal) policy of the Party.

Vinh Phuc was the first locality to pilot the productcontract system in agricultural production in the 1960s, contributing greatlyin terms of both theory and experience to the Party’s Doi Moi policy inagriculture.

The province has also been among localities that lead thecountry in terms of economic growth, State budget collection and investmentattraction. Its economic size rose by 60.5 times from that in 1997, making theprovince one of top five contributors to the State budget.

PM Phuc asked the provincial authorities to effectively useresources to create favourable conditions for production and trade, continuerestructuring the economy, develop high-tech industry while paying attention toagriculture, rural economy and new-style rural area building.

He suggested developing tourism into a pillar of the localeconomy.

The leader expressed his belief that on the back ofachievements over the past seven decades, the provincial Party committee,authorities and people will meet set targets, contributing to nationalconstruction and protection.

In the morning the same day, the PM also launched a treeplanting campaign in the locality./.
